Matt has been teaching private music lessons for over 10 years, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique, empathetic teaching approach to every student. Attending Berklee College of Music with a focus on Voice and Guitar performance, Matt has not only honed technical skills but also developed an understanding of the pedagogical needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs. Matt’s teaching philosophy centers on harnessing each student’s curiosity, making the learning experience both fun and effective. With a calm persistence, Matt works through setbacks with students, ensuring they understand that their goals are attainable and progress is within reach.
In addition to private lessons, Matt has led music therapy groups and performed extensively, both as a solo artist and with numerous local bands. Matt’s expertise spans a variety of genres including jazz, rock, pop, blues, funk, and country. By encouraging improvisation and exploration, alongside a solid foundation of rudimental and technical understanding, Matt creates a balanced and engaging learning environment. Passionate about teaching students of all ages and abilities, Matt is excited to be part of the Chappaqua community and to help make music a wonderful part of your children’s lives.
Adrienne McKay
Guitar
Adrienne has been teaching guitar and performing as a professional musician for more than 14 years and has performed with her trio at festivals, jazz clubs, cruise ships and hotels around the world. Adrienne also loves teaching students of all ages the art of improvising in the styles of jazz and blues from beginner to advanced levels.
