Samantha White
Samantha White is a flutist and educator based in New York City. As a performer, Samantha has been the selected soloist with orchestras throughout the US in the Mozart, Vivaldi, and Ibert concertos, was featured on NPR’s What Makes It Great with Rob Kapilow, and recently performed in an orchestral residency with members from the Orchestra of the Americas and soloist Yo-yo Ma. A recipient of several awards, including from the National Society of Arts and Letters and the “President’s Own” Marine Band, Samantha is equally passionate about music education and advocacy. As the head of education with the Little Orchestra Society, she directs composition residencies and performances across underfunded schools and housing projects in NYC. Samantha works alongside wonderful teaching artists to build unique curriculums and chamber music experiences, overseeing programs across 12 locations in New York, serving 800-900 students each semester. In addition to these established residencies, Samantha recently initiated a collaboration with Timbalooloo Music and Success Academy charter schools to bring interactive chamber music performances to over 2,700 Kindergarten students this academic year.
