Savannah Gentry is an award-winning flutist who is committed to teaching the next generation. For the past 15 years, Savannah has been a flute teacher for beginner through advanced students of all ages. Her teaching philosophy is to get a student hooked on learning by showing them their full potential. Many of her students have succeeded in auditions for Oregon Music Educators All-State Festival, Western International Band Conference, Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in Portland, OR, Solo and Ensemble Competition, and many more. She loves watching her students grow in confidence and musicianship and is looking forward to sharing the joy of music making!
Chris Walker
Flute
Chris has been teaching private lessons for 10 years. He also currently works as the band director at a local public middle school. While he maintains his passion as a percussionist, he is also a dedicated teacher of beginning flute, clarinet, trumpet, and piano. Chris brings with him over 20 years of experience as a performer in a wide range of settings. His depth of knowledge covers all styles including jazz, pop, blues, funk, country and classical. His teaching approach encourages discovery of melody, harmony, rhythm through improvisation and exploration, alongside a solid foundation of rudimental and technical understanding. Chris is especially enjoys teaching young beginners on flute, clarinet, trumpet and piano, while covering all levels and genres on drum set and percussion. He is extremely excited to be a part of the Chappaqua community and to help make music a wonderful part of your children’s lives!
